Subject: Appointment of Vice President – Home Office Claims
I'm pleased to announce that John Tobey will rejoin REM as Vice President - Home Office Claims, effective 2/09/04. In this new role based in Cranbury, John will be responsible for REM's line of business management and technical claims management capabilities, as well as Quality Assurance. He will lead our Best Practices and leakage management processes, have responsibility for claims audits and technical training, and will be our liaison with ZSC concerning Managed Care services. As a member of the senior staff, John will report to me and work closely with Paula Maguire to assure continued delivery of high quality services to our customers.
John previously served as Vice President of the Syracuse Service Center in REM's early days until the closing of that office in 1998. Other industry experience includes field and home office claims management positions with Continental Insurance, Cigna, Firemens's Fund, and Harleysville Insurance. He is a graduate of St. Peter's College and has been awarded the Workers Compensation Claims Law Associate and Fraud Claim Law Associate designations from the American Educational Institute.
